"Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience," (Col 3:12)

Mt 13, 47-53 ..."The Kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea...

Mt 13, 47-53

Jesus said to the disciples:"The Kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind. When it is full they haul it ashoreand sit down to put what is good into buckets. What is bad they throw away. Thus it will be at the end of the age. The angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteousand throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.""Do you understand all these things?"They answered, "Yes."And he replied,"Then every scribe who has been instructed in the Kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household who brings from his store room both the new and the old. "When Jesus finished these parables, he went away from there.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I have been interested in fish since childhood. I was fascinated by my first small aquarium with small creatures, that my parents bought me when I was still in elementary school. Because of the different directions my superiors were sending me, I was unable to pursue this kind of hobby in my priestly life. Finally, after coming to the USA, I was able to return to aquaristics and set up a fish farm in a quite large (120 gallons) tank. It is known that each aquarium is equipped with a net for catching fish, smaller or larger net. You can't catch any fish without it. Even despite having it, sometimes you have to make a lot of effort to catch a fish, because under water they are fast and agile. Looking at today's Gospel, I understand the effort of God, who is trying to fish out every person from the dirty, sinful waters of this world and transfer them to the clean tank of eternity. Often, as sinners, we do not make God's work any easier. By our non-conversion, persistence in weakness, constant pursuit of sin, in which we move like fish in water, we run away from God, slipping out of his paternal hands. When I catch fish, they don't understand that I'm doing it for their good, because I want to clean the aquarium, change the water, or put in new plants. Man also sometimes does not understand the concern of God, who wants to change his life for the better. We do not understand that God, taking us out of this world wants to give us a better and more beautiful life.
